Date of notification: June 2nd, 2021

On May 28th, the Austrian government has announced that all current attendance restrictions for public events and the night-time curfew will expire as of July 1st. Furthermore, the wearing of face masks during performances will no longer be mandatory.

Under these conditions, fortunately, the Schubertiade concerts from August 21st through 29th in Schwarzenberg and from September 30th through October 5th in Hohenems will take place as scheduled. Since concert goers need to be either vaccinated, convalesced or tested, it is required to produce an official confirmation of an immunization against Covid19 (valid from day 22 on after the reception of the first vaccine dose) or a recovery (no longer than six months ago) or a negative test (antigen: no older than 48 hours, PCR: no older than 72 hours).

On our website www.schubertiade.at we will provide the latest details and inform about possible changes to the current regulations.

Ticket orders are possible online, as well as via email (info@schubertiade.at) or phone (+43 / 5576 / 72091). Our ticket office is happy to inform you about ticket availabilities.

We are looking forward to seeing our guests and artists again!

Dear Madam
Dear Sir

After we already had to cancel this year's first concert series, we now unfortunately don't see any possibility for a sensibly projectable staging of the Schubertiade concerts from May 26th to 31st in Hohenems and from June 19th to 27th in Schwarzenberg, which therefore, and to our utmost regret, have to be cancelled as well.

Provided that the number of infections is favourable, the conditions ordered by the Austrian government for the period from May 19th to the beginning of July only allow a maximum occupancy of 50% of the available seats. Beyond the resulting disadvantageous financial situation, this means that we would have to disinvite a large number of our guests.

Since 85% of our concert goers have to travel to Austria, they would face a variety of problems depending on their country of origin. For example, half of the Schubertiade guests come from Germany, where, in most regions, a curfew is currently in effect from 10 p.m. This means that it is impossible to make one's way home on time to southern Germany after an evening concert. In addition, people returning to Germany from abroad have to go into quarantine for several days in most federal states. Regarding future entry regulations to Austria, there are only vague information for the time being.

We confidently hope that the situation caused by the pandemic will develop positively in the course of the next few months, so that we can welcome our artists and guests again in the nearly usual atmosphere from August 2021 on. We look forward to seeing you again!

With kind regards

Gerd Nachbauer
(Managing director of the Schubertiade GmbH)
