For almost five decades, the Schubertiade in Vorarlberg, Austria, has been both an institution and a place of pilgrimage. The crème de la crème of the international chamber music scene come together here in a picturesque mountain setting. Many of the artists are established world stars, others are promising debutants.
Art song in particular has had a special place at the Schubertiade from the very beginning, both in the programme and in the hearts of the audience. Anyone who loves song must come to Schwarzenberg, that is for certain.
Fanny Tanck has already travelled to the Bregenzerwald several times and has returned with a variety of impressions. In the form of music and in the form of conversations that she had with the performing artists such as Fatma Said, Sabine Meyer and Malcolm Martineau, but also with the audience and of course with the Managing Director of the Schubertiade, Gerd Nachbauer.

»Si Bayreuth est La Mecque des wagnériens et Pesaro celle des rossinistes, Schwarzenberg est celle des schubertiens.«
